E-Z-GO / GOLF CONCEPTS HEAD PRO-ASSISTANT PRO CHAMPIONSHIP-
HUALALAI GOLF CLUB, DECEMBER 1-2.
12.2.2008-- The Aloha Section PGA announces the
FINAL ROUND RESULTS of the 2008 Aloha Section PGA E-Z-GO/Golf
Concepts Head Professional - Assistant Professional Championship
played at the Hualalai Golf Club on the
Big
Island.
The Golf Academy of Hawaii
team of Bill Hunt and Maurice Radke (35-34-69) won with a birdie
on the first playoff hole to outlast the Hawaii Prince Golf Club
team of Tim Herek and Kalani Kiaaina (33-34-67). Both teams
fired two day totals of nine-under par 135, but only the team of
Bill Hunt and Maurice Radke get to take home the first place
check of $2,500. There were three teams one-shot back at
eight-under par 136 tied for third place – Turtle Bay Golf’s
Kevin Carll and Tad Fujimaki (35-33-68), Pearl Country Club’s
Beau Yokomoto and Regan Lee (32-33-65), and Kapalua Golf’s Mike
Jones and John Shaw (34-34-68).
The Competition is a 36-hole
four-ball stroke play event. Twenty-seven (27) teams, which
includes forty-three (43) island professionals will be playing
for a $11,400 purse. The first round will be played on the
Hualalai Course which plays to 7,117 yards, par 72 and the
second round will be played on the Ke’olu Course which plays to
7,234, par 72.
Eligible to play in the Aloha
Section PGA Head Pro-Assistant Pro Championship are teams which
include; an Aloha Section PGA member classified as Golf
Operations Executives, Directors of Golf, Head Professionals, or
Directors of Instruction paired with up to three PGA (A-8)
Assistants, (A-6) Teaching Professionals or Apprentices from the
same resort or golf facility.

Ke'olu Course is open only for Hualalai Club Premier members and
their guests.

12.3.2008-- Michelle Wie opened with a 3-under par 69 and
is in a tie for 6th place today thru the 1st of 5 rounds of the
LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. Wie played the Legends Course
at LPGA International in Daytona Beach Florida. The leader who
