Newsflash Shanghai Masters - Dale v Day
Cues n Views congratulates Dominic Dale on his stirring fight back from 6-3 down to win the 2007 Shanhai Masters 10 frames to 6.
The highligh of the final was a high quality 143 break from Dominic which gave him the impetus to take the frames needed to clinch his victory.
To sum up Dominic's week; he managed to get beyomd our ken (Doherty) in the first round from then on he went gunning for Gunnell, targeting a comfortable win. He then went on to face Dave reminding us of Harold (our old) times. In the semi he proved himself far from beyond his Selby (sell by) date cruising into his first ranking tournament final for ten years beating his practice partner making it a red letter Day for Dale's diary.

In October 2005 an auction took place which included lots from the collection of Dominic Dale. there was a range of collectable cues that would surely inspire the more serious collector who wished to add to, or start a cue collection of historical significance.
The items ranged from the era of Roberts to a cue that I feel would suit many a player and more than a few collectors, including cues from the famous manufacturers such as Burroughres & Watts and Riley as well as cues that commemorate the break making achievements of the best specialist Billiard players ever to grace the green baise.

The origin of the game of Billiards is very obscure, although many efforts have been made to trace its history, always without success. There are in existence a number of "theories" or "anecdotes" which endeavour to explain the origin of the game and the reader must choose whichever 'story" is preferred. Most British Billiard Book collections stick to English books, because apart from the odd Canadian, Indian, Australian and American (Phelan's game of Billiards, for example) books. All others are about the Carom or cannon game played on pocket-less tables.

Would you believe that even the humble chalk is a collectors item to some enthusiasts.
During the 1830's chalk was first used by John Carr. He amazed Billiard Room enthusiasts with his skill and explained that it was his use of his special "twisting chalk", which he then sold to them in small boxes at the then very high price of Two shillings and sixpence (12 1/2p) per box.

Leeds. He was born on 14th October 1978 and was to become one of the
greatest sporting talents from the famous English county of Yorkshire.
He first picked up a snooker cue and began to play the game at the age

he would reach number four in the world rankings of the professional
