Le Brussels UnderWater Hockey est le premier Club de Hockey SubAquatique Bruxellois. 
Qu'est ce que le Hockey SubAquatique? Le Hockey SubAquatique est un sport d'équipe ouvert à tous qui se pratique en piscine et qui voit deux équipes (de généralement 6 joueurs équipés de masque, tuba et palmes) s'affronter en apnée pour un palet immergé (à plus ou moins deux mètres) qu'ils doivent propulser dans des goals opposés à l'aide d'une crosse courte en bois (de +/- 30 cm). Nous nous retrouvons 20 minutes avant la séance devant les guichets de la piscine et nos entraînements ont lieu:Tous les mardis de 21 à 22h à la piscine de la VUB / Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Complexe Sportif, entrée n° 8 Boulevard du Triomphe, 1050 Bruxelles-Ixelles);Tous les mercredis de 21 à 22h avec l'EPO à la piscine de BLOCRY (Rue de Castinia, 1348 LLN); Tous les jeudis de 21 à 23h et tous les samedis de 20 à 22hà la piscine du TRITON (260A avenue des Anciens Combattants, 1140 Bruxelles-Evere). Vous n'avez pas besoin de nous prévenir, n'hésitez pas à venir à l'improviste! Les trois premières séances d'initiation sont gratuites. Si vous accrochez nous vous proposerons ensuite la formule d'abonnement la plus adaptée à votre profil.Le montant de la cotisation complète varie en fonction de la période de l'année à laquelle vous décidez de vous faire membre: De janvier à décembre D'avril à décembre De juillet à décembre D'octobre à décembre Cotisation : 360 € 270 € 180 € 90 € Tarif étudiant : 240 € 180 € 120 € 60 € Les cotisations sont versées au compte de l'asbl BUWH : 310-1940789-02 (Electronic IBAN: BE32310194078902 BIC-Adress SWIFT: BBRUBEBB). La plupart des membres du BUWH pratiquent le Hockey subaquatique de manière ludique et récréative et il existe encore une formule de cotisation "loisirs" réservées à celles et ceux qui n'ambitionnent pas de pratiquer le Hockey subaquatique en compétition.Pour les autres qu'ils sachent que certains membres du BUWH participent aux championnats de Belgique ainsi qu'à de nombreux tournois internationaux (consultez le calendrier de nos activités). Parmis ces joueurs, quelques uns ont participé avec la sélection belge au Championnat du Monde de Hockey SubAquatique qui s'est déroulé à Sheffield en août 2006. A l'issue de ce mondial la sélection belge occupe une brillante 11ème place (sur 35 nations pratiquant le Hockey Subaquatique). L'inscription au club se fait via ce site. Saturday the 8th of September 2007, FEBRAS-BEFOS has been honored with the title of “Royal” federation. A celebration ceremony has been held in the prestigious Hôtel de Ville of Brussels in presence of His Highness the Prince Laurent of Belgium, Achille Ferrero CMAS President, Freddy Thielemans Mayor of Brussels City, Robert Henry FEBRAS-BEFOS President, Laurent Blanc FFESSM President and the NOB President. Underwater Hockey was represented by Romain Alderweireldt and Sébastien Snoeck co-founders of the Brussels UnderWater Hockey (BUWH) who had invited Karin Veltman CMAS UWH World Champion for the Netherlands in 2004 to the ceremony.Karin had the mission to introduce underwater hockey to His Highness the Prince Laurent. Obviously, she has successfully achieved her duty… 
Karin, you have met the Prince he was for sure really interested into underwater hockey, could you tell us what you told him? Well, this was the first time that I had the chance to shake the hand of a member of the Royal family because of my underwater hockey background… that was actually quite nice; I think it is very important to raise the visibility of underwater hockey as a serious sport that has so much to offer to players in terms of fun, a good challenge and personal development and this was a good opportunity to introduce the sport to the Prince, especially since he had not heard about underwater hockey before. Apparently the Prince has a bit of a diving background himself so he leafed with interest through the nice BUWH brochure and information leaflet which I provided him.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW of BENSON TAYLOR and LIAM WATSON players and Captain of the OPEN ELITE New Zealand Team that has won its second underwater hockey world champion title in a row last August 2006 in Sheffield. Benson, Liam first of all I would like to congratulate both of you for the second world champion title that you’ve obtained in Sheffield last week. How do you feel one week after this great victory?Liam Watson (L) - Thanks Romain. Once again for me it takes a while for the realization to set in that the goal we have worked towards for so long is now over, and that we have achieved it…Over the next few weeks it will slowly sink in I think! In the meantime it’s great to catch up with friends from the other countries now that the competition can be set aside, and meet new people such as yourself before we have to go home. 
Liam, Benson & RomainBenson Taylor (B) - It’s awesome. We’ve trained hard for a very long time for this, and it’s great that we’ve been able to realize our ambitions the way we have. I’m proud of the way the whole team really stepped up and played to their maximum potential.
