Welcome to the 29th annual Textile River Regatta

Greetings rowers, coaches, referees and friends of the Textile
River Regatta!
The
TRR is DONE!
Many thanks to all who participated - rowers, coaches, vendors,
volunteers and parents. An unofficial total of 2,659 athletes,
482 boats and one helicopter went up and down the river on a perfect
sunny day. Stay tuned for pictures from that helicopter...
Official results have been posted (see the Results
page), and we've just started posting some pictures from the
event. Look for more updates below as those pictures and other
items come to mind -- like LOST AND FOUND:
LOST: Medium BLUE low fleece pile jacket. Front zipper, 2 front pocket w/zippers,
under arm vent zippers. The name of the jacket is "Wind stopper" - Gray interior lining.
LOST: Pair of glasses
FOUND: Set of C2 blades
LOST: Did you take the wrong box of sneakers and other
miscellaneous gear? A club is missing its footwear,
fortunately they are local and didn't have to walk too far.

October 4th, 2009. If you have any questions or comments
about this year's regatta, please write to us. We take your
comments seriously and truly attempt to improve the regatta each
year. We can't promise to spend $800k on boathouse renovations
every year, but we'll try our best.

Helicopter pictures!
If your crew was on the water between 13:02 and
13:51 on race day, you've probably been caught
from above by the helicopter taking shots.
If you saw the heli, it's a good bet it saw and
photographed you - there are 130
shots on the web page.

Regatta Welcome
message has been e-mailed to all
participants. Apologies that some of the
links in that email weren't passed correctly, but
the documents are all here on the site. If
you didn't receive the email, you can download
the entire TRR 2008 Packet (3.5Mb
PDF). It contains the welcome message, all
maps, directions, the last known good event
schedule, and the coach's waiver form.
Suitable for travel.
COACH'S WAIVER. Why should rowers have all the waiver fun? Exactly, they shouldn't. So we're asking all coaches to sign the
Coach's Waiver Waiver which basically means you are attesting to the fact that all of your rowers are who you said they were on the waiver forms. We have no way to police this
issue on game day, so please feel our pain, sign the waiver, and bring it to check-in.

bring paper (less preferable) to check-in.
ONLINE PAYMENTS CAN CONTINUE until FRIDAY NIGHT
through Regatta
Central.
An email to all registered competitors and
coaches will be going out late tonight or early
tomorrow morning with parking tips, hot-seat
protocols, etc. Please hold your logistics
questions until you've seen that email and then of
course contact us with any open items. For
now, a NEW area map has been posted with more
information about parking. See the Course Map
page.

deadline for room reservations to guarantee the TRR
rate. 418 boats and 2250 athletes from 72
organizations are registered as of 3pm today.

Preliminary Event
Schedule is posted. There is a slight
delay with posting of events on Regatta Central.
Stay tuned. This year's event lineup features
better spacing of the congested events; most masters
events have been moved up to the front of the day; and
better options for athlete recycling in the 4 and 8
events. The schedule is still subject to
change in case we find any travesties.

More about the TRR
The
Textile River Regatta is an extremely popular 3.5 mile head race held
on the Merrimack River in the fall. The event is organized by the
Merrimack River Rowing Association (MRRA) in coordination with the
UMass-Lowell and Lowell High School Rowing programs.
A
full range of sculling and sweeps events are included, with
competition provided by large entries from many local and regional
clubs and colleges. The event occurs a few weeks prior to the Head
of the Charles and hence provides athletes with ideal competitive
training on a great course with a convenient location.
