Though less ism in the recent years, there have not been as many female race car drivers than in the earlier years. In total there have been 14 women race in NASCAR (and one man who in history was mistaken for a woman). The first was Sara Christian in 1949 and the most recent women to drive in NASCAR is Shawna Robinson. To the left hand side is the list of 14 female race car drivers. In brackets are the years in which they raced and listed after the names is the number of races they ran.
