Welcome to the official home of the Valley Elementary
Youth Wrestling League. This website is designed to convey information about our league and our teams. News and results will
be posted periodically through the season in an attempt to be able to communicate more readily with our members.
The VEWL is comprised of 32 teams from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania and the Western
part of Central New Jersey. These 32 teams form four 8 team divisions and will do battle through the
course of the season to be crowned the VEWL Regular Season Team Champion. The VEWL has 17 weight classes that these wrestlers compete
in. The weight classes are
46, 50, 54, 58, 61, 64, 67, 70, 73, 76, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 120, and 160.
The teams are made up of wrestlers
from each teams community in grades K thru 6. Each team in the league could be comprised of a Varsity team, a Junior Varsity team and an
Exhibition team. The VEWL holds a League tournament at the end of each year for our Varsity,
Junior Varsity and Exhibition wrestlers. For more information on these three tournaments, click the links in
this paragraph or use the menu bar to navigate to them.
The 2007-2008 Season saw Nazareth White sweep both the regular season team championship and the tournament
team championship convincingly with strong performances from all of their wrestlers. We look forward to another strong season in 2008-2009
from teams like Nazareth White, Nazareth Blue, Parkland Red, Palisades, Northampton, Stroudsburg, Pen Argyl and Whitehall. We would like
to welcome Bethlehem Township Bulldogs and Pocono Mountain West into the VEWL this year. Any teams interested in joining the VEWL can contact
the league via the contact us link on this page.
We are looking forward to the start of the 2008-2009 season and what it will bring as our young
wrestlers keep developing into the fine, quality student-athletes that they are. Keep up the hard work wrestlers and coaches!!
This site will also post tournaments, via the Pennsylvania Youth Wrestling website, all year long for
the avid, year round wrestler who is looking for competition. Please check out our Tournaments link to the left for the latest
tournaments in your area.
