Mount Olive Junior Wrestling is a recreational wrestling program based in Mount Olive township, New Jersey. Our wrestlers ages range from kindergarten to eighth grade. Our goal is to promote the sport of youth wrestling and encourage physical fitness, sportsmanship, and character in our youth wrestlers. This program provides instruction and competition for all ages and levels of wrestlers, from novice through advanced.
Registration has begun for the new '2008 - 2009' season.
Practices will begin during the first week of November and will be held on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday for JV/Varsity from 6:00 - 8:00pm
and Tuesday's and Thursday's for CLINIC from 6:00 - 7:30pm.
All practices take place at the HIGH SCHOOL.

With the new season upon us, most wrestlers will be needing new gear to either replace that which has been outgrown or to purchase it for the first time. The list of equipment is pretty short. Consisting of:
Headgear (required)
Wrestling Shoes (required)
Knee Pads (optional)
If you prefer to buy locally, these items are available at many area sporting good stores.
We believe that wrestling, the world's oldest sport, is also one of its noblest. Wrestling is also among the fairest of sports because it attempts to match participants of equal size, age, and ability. We believe that winning is not everything, doing your best is the ultimate reward. Those who choose to wrestle are already winners! Our program strives to enable each participant to improve upon their abilities whether they are novice, intermediate or advanced wrestlers. We embrace the individualistic nature of wrestling while at the same time, emphasize team unity.
To live this philosophy, we embrace the following guiding principles:
To the best of the coaches abilities, all wrestlers will be paired in practice and in meets based on their age, weight, experience, and ability level.
There is a direct correlation between a the number of matches a wrestler has and their progress – the goal is to get them as much as experience as possible without burning them out.
Under no circumstances will any wrestler in this program be encouraged to lose weight to be able to wrestle in a particular weight class at a tournament
Safety is a top priority – practices and meets will be managed in such a way that minimizes the risk of injury
Parents and coaches must lead by example – sportsmanship in particular must be taught to our kids – parents must act with dignity and respect during matches, avoid excessive mat-site yelling and coaching, and encourage our wrestlers whether they win or lose
Our program is geared towards building successful high school and college wrestlers and not on short-term winning percentage – while some winning is required to maintain a wrestler’s self-esteem, the main goal throughout the season is to get them the best experience possible – the coaches will strive for the best balance for each individual wrestler
