Our site is dedicated not only to the men, women, and children who ride here every weekend, but to the spirit of the rodeo as well. There is no greater tradition than that of the American Cowboy. We hope you will take the time to stop by and visit us to watch our men, women, and children compete in some of the toughest sports there are. Florida may not be what you think of when you think of cowboys and the rodeo. Florida cowboys were here long before there were any theme parks. Florida's cowboys of the day were more accurately called 'Cow-hunters'. Because of the unique terrain and underbrush, these cow-hunters had to be skilled in many areas of roping and handling cattle that roamed almost wild in the thick palmettos of our area. The Cow-hunters would actually need to go in and flush out the cattle in order to take them to the market. Not a very easy task considering that they were in a swampy area with alligators and snakes! The rodeo started as a competition between ranch hands whose job it was to break in the new horses and cattle. At Kissimmee Sports Arena we celebrate the heritage of the skills it took to survive in the early days of our nation. Not only will you have a chance to enjoy our exciting events, but you may learn a thing or two about life in the early days of Florida. Come experience the fun and excitement at The Kissimmee Sports Arena's Friday night Rodeo! The rodeo is now closed but the arena is still available for rental. If you have a wedding, family reunion, class reunion or group event, call us for information on renting the Banquet/Lounge. Hotel Accommodations - if you are coming to the Kissimmee Sports Arena for a wedding or event, your guests may need a hotel in the Orlando and Kissimmee area. Disney hotels are available on Walt Disney World Property. There are also Kissimmee hotels and Kissimmee area motels at bargain prices online. Our sports arena is located in one of the fastest growing counties in Florida and one of the hottest markets in the US.
