Wild Wheels Weekend, Inc., is still an active group. We just took a
year off.
Roaring Thunder for Kids
will remain an active pull for the garden tractors.
Wild Wheels Weekend will
return in 2009 with pulls for the full-size vehicles. We will contact the
pullers next year with information.
Aug. 28--Logan is thru
with his chemo-therapy. He is doing great, and can't wait to be a little boy
again, without living in the hospital or doctor's offices.

As you can see, the core group from the previous Wild Wheels
Weekend, is the same. There were things happening that we didn't like, and we
owned the incorporation, so we went on to do our own thing. Roaring Thunder for
Kids was the first event. We did that to kind of step back and get our own
perspective on how we wanted things to happen, and we hoped we would be able to
put the fun back in the pull. WE DID!!!
Everyone had a good time with the garden tractors and the mini-mods. When we
went home Sunday, we all agreed it had been a fantastic week-end; we all had
smiles on our faces; and much anticipation for the next event. We haven't been
able to do that in a couple of years.
Most of the pullers
know our regular photographer, Harold Card. He was going to be there, but he
recently learned that his father has cancer, and was given 6 months to live. He
is not doing good, so Harold doesn't think he has that long. Needless to say,
Harold will be spending all the time with his dad that he can. Here is a link

I
saw Harold in Bloomsburg in September, and he told me his dad is doing okay. It
is, of course, a battle, but his dad is in good spirits.
Monday, 30
June---The weekend was a huge success. Everyone had such a good time--the
pullers loved the track; the workers had time to joke with the pullers; and the
spectators even joined in joking with the pullers. We all left Sunday with a
good feeling for a good job well done!!! And we all had smiles on our faces. The
best part is that Logan ate all weekend. He doesn't eat much, so that pleased
all of us.
Sunday was a fun
day. Quite a few of the pullers had graduations to go to, so they had to leave.
We decided to have a fun day, and let everyone hook as many times as they wanted
to. The part I enjoyed was watching today's future pullers. The kids were on the
garden tractors, and they had so much fun. Logan drove again, and Sierra Musk
drove John Kelsey's tractor for the first time. The look on her face showed just
how excited she was. I think Paul really has to get going and build a pulling
tractor for his daughter--she is hooked (in more ways that one). I have
pictures, and I will go thru them and get them on here real soon.
Saturday, 27 June--The pull
last night turned out great. The rain held off; however, the humidity was nasty.
The pullers all loved the track, and they will all be back Saturday. Logan had
the first hook down the track--he even brought the front end up (which scared
him), but a crew member was right there, and Logan loved it!!!
The fireworks were
awesome!!! One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.
SOMEONE HAS PUT ON THE BROOKFIELD GARDEN TRACTOR CLUB MESSAGE BOARD THAT THE
PULL HAS BEEN CANCELLED, AND SIGNED OUR VICE PRESIDENT'S NAME.
SOMEONE IS TRYING TO SABOTAGE OUR PULL, AND HAS CHOSEN THIS UNDERHANDED WAY TO
DO IT!!!
WHY DO THEY WANT TO HURT LOGAN?? AND HE IS THE ONE THEY WILL HURT!! HE IS AN
8-YEAR OLD BOY WITH CANCER.
GROW UP!!!!
We
have found out who did this, and it is too bad that they have to take our
problems out on a child.
Roaring Thunder for Kids is the name
of the newest pulling event in Mt. Upton. The pulls will still be held at the
track behind the school, but the vehicles will be smaller. It will continue to
be not-for-profit with the profit (NOT proceeds) from these events going
for medical bills for children or improvements to the park and the village of Mt. Upton.
This pull will be to help
Logan Bramhall's family with his increasing medical bills. He was diagnosed in
2005 (at age 5) with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has become a favorite with
all of us. Logan and his family will be with us again at this pull.
This is Logan's school picture. The first time we saw him, he
had been going thru chemotherapy, and had lost all his hair (at 5 years old). He
has such a happy disposition, it is hard to believe that he has been thru all
the medical treatments that he has.
