Hello, my name is Antonis Delimitros and I am an American-Greek living in Boston, MA. This is my personal website dedicated to the best Greek National Team of all times.
The Greek National Basketball Team won the Eurobasket of 1987 - held in Athens, Greece - and I am pleased
to present you some facts and photos about that historical moment of Greek
Basketball.
It was Sunday, 14th of June, 1987 when the Greek National Basketball
Team played against the team of Soviet Union! Soviet Union was until that
time 14 times Champion of Europe and had won ALL 12 times that had played
against Greece!
Nikos Galis, Panagiotis Giannakis, Panagiotis Fasoulas (photo right)
and the other Greek basketball players wrote history that night. And Greeks
from all over the world started screaming and crying from enthousiasm
when 2 hours after the launch of the final, Greece was the EUROPEAN CHAMPION...
