> December 24th, 2006. Sean goes through the rest of the games for this week and points out Michael Pittman, Ron Dayne, Ladell Betts and J.P. Losman as some of his favorites this week.
> December 23, 2006. Unfortunately, Sean wanted to be timely so he submitted Saturday's game by itself. That does mean we are going to have to go to a Part 3 this week to finish things off. But Sean doesn't mind, it's not like it's the holidays or anything.
> December 21st, 2006. To be honest, it doesn't look like a Thursday game those fighting for the championship ought to be paying attention to. But Sean does pull out a couple of gems that he likes for tonight's showdown at Lambeau.

Michael Vick, QB, Atl
What happened:
Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with the dogfighting probe of his property in Virginia.
What it means:
And you thought Joey Harrington would never have any value again, huh?
Donovin Darius, S, Jac
What happened:
The Oakland Raiders signed Donovan Darius on Tuesday
What it means:
Darius had a franchise record of 846 tackles with Jacksonville and should make the Raiders defense more formidable. Before your "SLEEPER D ALERT" goes off, please be aware that Donovan and I went to school together (or at least attended the same university at the same time). Nonetheless, you could do a lot worse than him in your extremely deep IDP leagues. In his last full season, Darius had 5 interceptions and 69 solo tackles. Just for comparison purposes, Troy Polamalu, a safety that will probably go before Darius had 74 solo tackles and 2 INTs in his last full season. I'd keep Darius on your IDP radar.
Steve McNair, QB, Bal
What happened:
Ravens quarterback Steve McNair had his drunken driving-related charge dropped.
What it means:
Good news for McNair owners, better news for Ravens fans, and great news for McNair. McNair is good bet to match or exceed last year's 3,000+ yards and 16 TDs, making him a good bet for a late round QB in most leagues.
Tank Johnson, DT, Chi
What happened:
WBBM AM780's Jeff Joniak reports that the Bears have waived DT Tank Johnson.
What it means:
The Bears statement is attached to this update

Shane Victorino, CF, Phi
What happened:
According to Phillies team doctor Michael Ciccotti, Shane Victorino may rejoin the big league club as soon as today, Wednesday August 22.
What it means:
Hang tight on rushing the Flyin' Hawaiian into your fantasy lineup. He has been struggling with a calf injury, including at least a couple of setbacks in rehab. Since Shane's primary value is for speed, he's a risky play until you see that he is healthy enough to run again. Play it safe and watch him play for a game or two before you consider activating him from the DL.
Cole Hamels, P, Phi
What happened:
Phillies left-handed ace Cole Hamels has a strained elbow and likely will miss at least two starts. Hamels (14-5, 3.50 ERA) will have an MRI exam and skip his scheduled start Wednesday August 22 against Los Angeles after complaining of persistent soreness in his left elbow, team doctor Michael Ciccotti said Tuesday night.
What it means:
Cole said he expects to go on the DL, so start researching who might be a suitable fill in for him on your roster. Hopefully this doesn't derail his entire season, as he has already pitched a career-high (at the major-league level) 167.1 innings this season. His previous high IP count was around 180 in 2006 (combination of minor and major leagues), so prepare for the team to play it safe with the team ace. This is really bad news for Hamels owners, as we are in the stretch run now, and his absence could cost some Fantasy GMs a shot at their title.
Garret Anderson, LF, LAA
What happened:
Garret Anderson's grand slam in the sixth inning against the Yankees on Tuesday August 21 gave him 10 RBIs and kept 44,264 fans on their feet until one of the most reserved players on the team grinned shyly and took his bow. The 34-year-old Anderson earlier hit a three-run shot, drove in two runs with a double, and doubled home another run in Los Angeles' 18-9 rout of the New York Yankees on Tuesday night. The 10 RBI was a single game team record.
What it means:
So that game accounted for 25% of his HRs (8) and 20% of his RBIs (50) for the entire season. Feel free to ignore this performance and look elsewhere for consistent contribution in the outfield.
Chone Figgins, CF, LAA
What happened:
Los Angeles 3B Chone Figgins sprained his left wrist checking his swing on ball four from Ron Villone with the bases loaded in the third inning of the game against the Yankees on Tuesday August 21. Robb Quinlan replaced Figgins to begin the fourth inning.
What it means:
Figgins has been declared day-to-day and will be examined on Wednesday. Daily leaguers should either bench him until he is on the field or watch his status closely. Weekly leaguers hang tight, because this sounds like nothing major and he could be active by the weekend.

Adonal Foyle, Center, GS
What happened:
Adonal Foyle and the Warriors have reached an agreement to a contract buyout. This will nullify his remaining three years on his contract and will make him a free agent on August 21st, 2007 when he clears waivers.
What it means:
A great player of character and integrity does not translate to much in fantasy hoops. It is unlikely that any team will claim him off waivers before the deadline and neither should your fantasy team when you draft within a few months.
Ricky Davis, Guard-Forward, Min
What happened:
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday the team has acquired forwards Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, along with two first-round draft picks and cash considerations from the Boston Celtics in exchange for forward Kevin Garnett.
What it means:
Ricky Davis becomes the go-to-guy at least from the perimeter for Minnesota Timberwolves and if you are wondering what Davis can do in this role, look no further than to his days as a Cleveland Cavalier. In 2002-03 season Davis averaged 20.6 points, 5.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals playing 39.6 minutes per game for the Cavs. Expect similar numbers this season.
Al Jefferson, Forward-Center, Bos
What happened:
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday the team has acquired forwards Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, along with two first-round draft picks and cash considerations from the Boston Celtics in exchange for forward Kevin Garnett.
What it means:
Jefferson, the 15th overall pick by the Celtics in the 2004 NBA Draft, averaged a double-double with 16.0 ppg (.514 FG%) and 11.0 rpg in 33.6 mpg in 69 games (60 starts) last season. Jefferson was the key piece the Wolves received in Tuesday's blockbuster deal with the Celtics. Al is a budding superstar and could easily approach 18-20 points, 11 rebounds and close to two blocks per game playing for rebuilding Timberwolves.
Kevin Garnett, Forward, Min
What happened:
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday the team has acquired forwards Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, along with two first-round draft picks and cash considerations from the Boston Celtics in exchange for forward Kevin Garnett.
What it means:
Garnett, a 10-time NBA All-Star, averaged 20.5 points (.491 FG%, .780 FT%), 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 38.3 minutes per game in 927 regular-season contests (890 started) in 12 seasons for the Timberwolves. Garnett’s scoring average should remain around 20 per game in Boston, but with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to pass the ball to and nobody on the Celtics’ roster to challenge him for rebounds, expect Kevin to approach career highs in both rebounds and assists next season.

What do you think? I could use another bat and I am getting tired of waiting for Hafner to come around. I also have Kendrick on my bench which makes it worse, seeing as he has been on the DL for more than a month now...Keep Hafner or get another bat?
