What exactly is the TORHS Winter
TRIFECTA?
We have gotten a few
emails and calls asking what is the Winter Trifecta and why
did we make the change from the old Winter Cup format? The
answer is actually pretty simple; we made the change for
you…the customer. While this will not qualify you for the
2009 Nationals, this will be the winter event of the year.
The goal of having
three different tournaments, in three locations, over one
weekend was to spread the excitement of the TORHS experience
to different areas. The three locations will also ease the
burden of traveling for a lot of the teams. One thing that
needs to be stressed is the fact that none of these events
will begin before 6:00 pm local time. You will have time to
travel after the Christmas Holiday.
This won’t just be a
Regional Tournament though; we will have teams traveling to
each area. These events will have special features that
will enhance the experience. One team from each part of the
Trifecta will win a FREE Entry to the 2009 TORHS Nationals.
Three teams will be playing at Nationals for FREE…no cost at
all! We will also have huge giveaways, special prizes, and
we will have National style awards for all the winners.
The Tier I Pro
Division will only be available in New York, but the Tier 2
Division will be available at all 3 locations. The Tier I
Pro Division will be playing for the $7,500.00 prize
money…it’s a winner-take-all format. The Tier 2 Pros will
be playing for $1,500.00, as long as there are 4 teams in
their division. You have a chance to play for money in each
area of the Trifecta!
Why settle for
another local Tournament over the Holidays on the west
coast? We have teams coming to Las Vegas from all over the
States. If you are on the West Coast and have not played in
a TORHS event then we want you to give us a shot. TORHS has
hockey people running the show and we will not settle for
average…we strive to improve our product all the time. Las
Vegas is going to be the piece of the Trifecta that has the
most teams from different locations. As you know “What
happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…except the memories of a
great tournament.”
St. Louis and New
York will be jam-packed. You need to register early for
these events. We expect both of these events to sell out.
These two areas are familiar to the TORHS product and are
excited to play. Look for Skate Safe America and Matteson
Square Garden to be jamming all weekend.
One last note for
all the 8 and under teams out there. The Winter Trifecta
will have special pricing for this age group. The team fee
for the 8 and under division is only $400.00. We know this
division is important to the growth of our game and we want
to help out. Bring the little guys out for some fun!
