 This weekend is one of only four each year when the £250 prize is drawn in addition to the £150 prize. Yes, two chances to win this month. All you need to do is download the 600 club registration form, fill it in and send it with your annual subscription to the address on the form. If you want to be included in this months draw be sure to have your completed entry subscription in before Saturday.

European Roller Hockey

 This Saturday will see International Roller Hockey in the UK. At home in the CERS Cup Middlesbrough RHC will play RESG Walsum (Germany) at Eston Sports Acadamy Normanby Rd, South Bank, Middlesbrough TS6 9AE starting at 4pm. Bury RHC will play Roller Biasca (Switzerland) at the Pier Sports Centre, Herne Bay starting at 8pm. HBU will be competing in the Euro Champions league traverlling to Italy to play Roller Bassano also on Saturday evening.

Premier League appointed referees

Changes have been made to the sessions that players should attend.National Training RegistrationPLEASE BE AWARE THAT NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO START TRAINING WITHOUT HAVING COMPLETED THE NEW NATIONAL TRAINING REGISTRATION FORM (UNDER 18) (OVER 18) . Report of under 19’s ladies

This competition was also used as part of my development plan for Ladies, so more important than winning was gaining experience of playing competitive Roller Hockey abroad. Our team was the youngest team in the competition and we had shown signs of a bright future for English Ladies Roller Hockey.Regarding the games, although we started the first game using the Zone defense I decided during this game to change to man to man restrict which we played for the rest of the competition with a positive response from the girls and this is shown in the results at half time.Once more it was the fitness and reaction capacity along with the basic skating skills that held us back.On the final day I was talking to the other team coaches and I am very pleased to say that Bethany Cook was concidered as one of the top three players in the competition - well done Bethany!!I would like to congratulate the girls for their brilliant behaviour off the rink and great attitude on the rink, which motivated me again to progress the Ladies teams for a future in Roller Hockey competitions they deserve.A special “thank you” to Kirsty Ingham who did a brilliant job as physio and assistant coach and made my job a lot easier.Finally I would like to thank Michaela Parfitt for videoing all the games and for supporting Kirsty during my absence on the first day, prior to the first match and all the supporters for uplifting the girls spirits.Carlos Amaral (Head Coach)

Under 19s ladies compete in France

Photo by Jan Cook This years England under 19 ladies team has now been selected. They will travel to Cestas, France to compete in the 2nd Under 19 Ladies European Championships from 30th October to 1st November. Four teams (Germany, France, Spain and England) will go head to head in this round robin championships starting on Thursday 30th October at 8pm with England v Spain . Head Coach’s Final Report on Ladies Worlds

Carlos Amaral final comments:I am very pleased that we achieved the objective of finishing top 8 in the world. The girls had a great attitude on and off the rink which showed an improvement of their sports mentality. Our team had an average of 17 years old and compared to other teams we were the youngest team in this competition. At this stage the ladies are developing at the same time they are competing and although this puts less pressure on the results, finishing 8th place is the best position ever and will give us more motivation to progress our project for Ladies Seniors. Regarding this competition, our scores in the first half were always close considering 4 out of 5 of our games were against the top 5 teams in the world; we found the second half of each match hard to keep the score down due to fitness and reaction capacity.I have returned from this competition highly motivated to carry on with the Ladies Seniors 4 years project. I will be talking to the girls about working on a weekly plan to improve fitness and reaction capacity. Working in these areas we will be more competitive with the top countries in the world, our main objective is to close the gap and achieve top 6 in the world. [Read more →]
