NCBC Randonneurs25th ANNUAL NCBC BREVETSERIES2008 Brevet Series Directions to the start of all brevets. These brevets are held rain or shine - no refunds of entry fees. TO REGISTER, PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND FILL OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM.  SEND THE REGISTRATION AND CHECK TO THE ADDRESS ON THE ENTRY FORM. Shuttling bags will be available on the 600K. There will be a motel room rented at the half way point of the 600K. Routes are not marked but cue sheets and maps will be provided.Please make checks payable to the North Carolina Bicycle Club (NCBC), and mail to: Alan Johnson308 Ashe St.Morrisville, NC 27560.  Pre-registration is not required, but extremely helpful to theorganizers.Any comments or questions about this brevet site, please e-mail them toAlan Johnson at alanj@email.unc.edu. ANSI or Snell approved Helmets MUST be worn at alltimes on course. For the 300k,400k and 600k there will be a bike inspection for lights and reflective gear atregistration. At minimum, a steady burning front and rearlights and reflective gear are required for the 300k through the 600kbrevet. Vista tail lights must be steady burning and a spare bulb and batteriesare required for all lights.  Your bicycle should be in good condition. All riders must carry at leastone spare tube and a pump. Personal sags are not allowed on the route. They are to be met at the designated checkpoints only. Check the regulations page or RUSAfor a complete list of brevet rules.There will be one motel room rented in Wilmington for the group's use on the 600k. The control in Wilmington is at Whitey's El-Berta Motor Inn. Call 1-800-866-9448 if you wish to reserve a room.  There will be a minimum amount of food and beverages along the route and moststores are closed at night, so comeprepared. There will be  limited coverage of the route by organizers, riders are expectedto be self sufficient. All riders planning on doing P-B-P must be a member of RUSA and have a valid RUSA membership number prior to the first brevet of the season. For information on P-B-P, visit their home page. April 26th Registration 6 am Start 7 a.m. Morrisville to Siler City, Seagrove and return. 12,000 feet of climbing. 400 km  (251 miles) Saturday, May 17th Registration 5 am Start 6 am Morrisville to Siler City, Seagrove and return. 16,000 feet of climbing. 600 km (375 miles) Saturday, June 7th Registration 5 am Start 6 am Morrisville to Wilmington and return. This route is flat but head winds and heat can make this route challenging.  Pre Ride Report. RUSA 10th anniversary ride and cookout 110 km (70 miles) Populaire 200 km  (129 miles) Brevet Saturday, August 16th Registration 9:00 a.m. (Populaire) Start 10:00 am Registration 5:00 a.m. (Brevet) Start 6:00 a.m. Picnic starts at 2:00 p.m. at Morrisville community park. RUSA 10th anniversary ride and picnic. $15.00 for either ride. Populaire: Morrisville, Bynum, Pittsboro and return Brevet: Morrisville to Siler City and return. 7,800 feet of climbing.
